Description – This working group continues efforts from last year to quantify the degree of hazard posed by DC sources, especially where it differs from AC system hazards, and safe work procedures for DC systems, such as battery and photovoltaic systems, where de-energization methods are not obvious or practical. It provides input to standards-making bodies where justified

Description – This working group continues efforts from last year to improve flow-down of electrical safety requirements found in 10 CFR 851 and other contractual requirements to general and electrical contractors working for the DOE site contractors.

Description – This working group will renew efforts to keep the DOE Electrical Safety Handbook consistent with the most recent standards and incorporate appropriate measures gleaned from best practices and lessons learned.
Proposed Best Practice – A summary comparison of site electrical AHJs and their processes, and how site AHJs can work together to achieve common goals.

Description – This new working group will discuss implementation of the 2015 NFPA 70E, focusing on electrical system operations and minimum inspection, testing, and maintenance of overcurrent protective devices to assist in assigning arc flash controls. A consensus product is needed to establish thresholds for making risk based determinations. It provides input to standards- making bodies where justified .

The workshops are working sessions everyone is expected to participate. Share issues/concerns you may have at your site.
Distribute members from your organizations among the groups
Have your deliverables ready to present on Thursday at 2:00 pm, 30 minutes each group

18. 2016 Workshop Guidance EVERYONE must sign in, in their working group
Participants will break out into 5 working groups
Groups may break into subgroups
Each group will have 1 or more workshop leaders to assist with the continuity, scope, and direction
All participants are encouraged to contribute to a workshop group
Participants will remain in the same group
End result is to produce usable product(s) and present the product(s) on Thursday afternoon
Groups must develop a continuity plan to complete unfinished work
In presentation define deliverable(s) and dates
