WHAT IS AGILE PROJECT MANAGEMENT?
Agile Project Management® Course Outline Foundation, Practitioner and Combined Based on the proven fundamentals within DSDM Atern, the certification provides the ability to deliver Agile Projects in organisations requiring standards, rigour and visibility around Project Management, while at the same time enabling the fast pace, change and empowerment provided by Agile. Agile Project Management delivers with time as a fixed point, to an agreed quality standard by prioritisation of requirements and regular time boxed delivery with reviews. Agile Project Managers act to facilitate delivery with regular communication with the customer and those developing the solution. This course covers the AgilePM certification by APMG and the DSDM Consortium that has been created to stand alone or sit alongside PRINCE2® as an approach to project management. The course is equally divided between the theory of the new wave of agile project management and the practical experience of the techniques and disciplines involved. Delegates will receive a copy of the Agile Project Management handbook v2 and will sit the Agile Project Management Foundation exam at the end of the 2-day course and the Practitioner exam on day 5 . The course is aimed at Project Managers who are either adding to their knowledge of traditional approaches such as PRINCE2® or who are operating in an agile environment and need to be able to run projects in more complex and scalable situations. All project professionals, including practicing project managers and all solution development roles that need to attain formal recognition of their skills by taking the APMG Agile Project Management examinations. Project sponsors, directors, programme managers or coordinators will also benefit. To give delegates a practical understanding of Agile Project Management which is based on the internationally recognised framework of DSDM Atern. This will enable delegates to become immediately productive as a project manager in an agile project environment. To highlight the difference between simple lightweight agile approaches which typically operate at the solution delivery (or ‘work package’) level and the greater holistic view of how multiple work streams are co-ordinated with the appropriate level of governance and control. The course will also prepare delegates for the Foundation and/or Practitioner exams. After successful completion of the Foundation course, delegates will gain an understanding (Foundation Level) of the following areas. The Practitioner course adds depth to this understanding enabling the delegates to apply this knowledge to a given organisational situation.
