First Nine Weeks - Humanities
Philosophy Eastern – Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism Greek – Socrates, Plato, Aristotle American – Thoreau, Emerson, Transcendentalism Architecture Stonehenge Egyptian Greco-Roman Medieval Castles

First Nine Weeks – Civics and Advanced Civics
Citizenship Obtaining Citizenship Obligations and Responsibilities Civic Engagement/Influencing the Government Influence of Media Perspectives on Current Issues Elections Political Parties Requirements to Run for Office

Supplies Humanities Pens or Pencils Loose Leaf Notebook Paper
Colored Pencils or Markers encouraged Civics/Advanced Civics Ear Buds would be helpful for individual research Pens or Pencils and a highlighter School Binder

It should be up and running on the first day of school Important information can be found there such as the class syllabus Assignments and links will be posted – so PLEASE check when you are absent before you ask the teacher “what did we do?”. If you don’t understand what was done, ask for clarification about the assignment.

Some important things to note…
Please do not wear heavily scented perfume or cologne to class and do not apply perfume, cologne, lotions or scented hand sanitizer in the classroom. I do not accept late work for Advanced Civics class. If you are in class, your work must be turned in at the time when the work is due.
