4 Practice Match 2018 Surveys: Practice capacity survey and Registrar intentions surveys – information collected late July / very early August August: Registrars to prepare CV’s and consider which practices they might like to apply to. Information on MCCC website – “where you can train”. (This will be updated for Sept 8th with levels of GPTs and whether they are open to match) Practices: review and update website information to show what they have available for registrars Information: timelines available on home page of MCCC website

5 Practice Match 2018 Week 1: Practices will be provided with a link to a web portal from 8th September Registrars review “where you can train” to confirm practices availability and suitability to send CV’s – send CVs between 8th and 15th September Week 2: 1 week for practices to review CVs and shortlist for interview. Practices to advise registrars of outcomes Practice Managers will log on to the portal to add – • Name of registrars who apply to their practice • Whether each applicant has been shortlisted for interview • If the practice is still open to receiving applications This information must be submitted by 22nd September.

6 Practice Match 2018 Week 3: 22nd – 29th September – MCCC checking.
To ensure that registrar invited to interview is appropriate for the practice eg. Correct level, meets Diversity or outer metro requirements. Registrar or practice will be advised if any issues. If interviews commenced before October 2nd, MCCC will not guarantee a match. MCCC will also identify practices with few applicants and registrars with few interviews and be in contact about additional options and further applications.

7 Practice Match 2018 Week 4: Interviews commence Oct 2nd and can continue until October 27th Week 5-7: Practices can commence submission of preferences from 9th October and must submit preferences by close of business 27th October. Week 8: MCCC will assess all preferences and advise of all matches by COB 3rd November. Note: Some practices with specific considerations will be allowed to commence interviews and submit preferences earlier as part of the “targeted pre match” process. These practices have been identified by MCCC.

8 Practice Match 2018 How do you Preference:
Practices are able to select two (2) placements as ‘Highly Desirable’ (HD), OR Practices are able to select an unlimited number of registrars as ‘Desirable’ (D) How to allocate: 1 HD for each semester (if accepting 6 month placements eg. Metro West); OR 1 HD for each level (eg. GPT1/PRRT1 and GPT3/PRRT3) for full 12 month placements. Registrars: 1 HD per placement, unlimited D

9 Practice Match 2018 Note – Desirable applicants are registrars the practice would be happy to accept. If you wouldn’t accept the registrar, do not add them as desirable. Please do not preference registrars who you have not interviewed. No Registrar or practice should be pressured to commit.
