2 Read About Abraham Lincoln
By: Stephen Feinstein Abraham Lincoln was one of the most influential presidents in the history of the United States.

3 Why he’s famous Abraham Lincoln is famous because he was president of the United States in In 1862, Lincoln wrote an important paper called the Gettysburg address that freed slaves in America. In 1863, the slaves were freed thanks to Lincoln, and the civil war ended in 1865.

4 Characteristics of Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was a hard worker from a young age. He had to walk 2 miles to school each way every day. He also worked for farmers and cut down trees and split logs. Abraham Lincoln read all kinds of books, but he especially liked law books. When he was 19 he traveled to the south and watch white people sell black slaves and thought it was wrong. When he was 21 he worked in a store and was very honest and helped people with their problems, therefore people called him Honest Abe. Lincoln went to study law to make a profession of his honesty and helpful nature.

5 Three important facts In 1834 Lincoln was elected into the Illinois General Assembly while continuing to study law, and opened his own law office. In 1846 Lincoln was elected into the House of Representatives. In 1862 Lincoln gave the Gettysburg Address and ended up freeing slaves.

6 Contributions Lincoln contributed to the greater good of the United States because he freed slaves. During Lincoln’s time as president, the Civil War was being fought. The Civil War made Lincoln sad and so did slavery. Lincoln also made a great lawyer because of his honest and helpful nature.

7 What I admire What I admire most about Abraham Lincoln is how he is so honest and helpful. In a time when many white people were unkind to slaves and black people, he did something to change that.

8 Conclusion I think the book I read gives an honest representation of my subject because I do think that Abraham Lincoln was an honest and good man. He has a memorial in his honor in Washington D.C. A president who does something as grand as freeing slaves and has a memorial in his honor must truly be an honest and great man.
