GC IM Community is vibrant and innovative Committed, through sound IM practices, to create a foundation for OG and facilitate access to government data and information for the Canadian public Demonstrated by the number and quality of submissions to the CIOC Award for Excellence in IM CIOC Awards acknowledge and honour excellence in the functional communities under the responsibility of the GC CIO - Provide an opportunity to recognize, promote and share these exemplary practices of these communities; - Raise the profile of the high-quality work taking place within the ATIP, IM, IT Security and Project Management communities; - Share the lessons learned and best practices and reflect the priorities of these communities; - Encourage collaboration on joint initiatives and the creation of innovative projects, initiatives and tools that can be shared with other organizations; - Acknowledge innovation and leadership; and - Reinforce community support and motivation.

4 Messaouda Ouerd (AAFC) Open Data Harvester
The Open Data Harvester (ODH) automatically extracts, validates and publishes data in support of the Directive on Open Government. The ODH pulls data from various application databases and raw data sources across AAFC and publishes it to an external-facing webserver where it can be accessed by Canadians.

5 Andrei Grushman & Erica Ren (CBSA) CBSA Data Analytics Initiative
Data analytics is a key element of the Canada Border Service Agency’s strategic direction for Building on the Agency’s existing investments in analytics, the Data Analytics Initiative is transforming CBSA’s capacity for operational and strategic decision-making. This initiative is taking full advantage of new technologies, such as predictive analytics, to make the CBSA a world leader in border management and law enforcement. 6 ABBA (Activity Based Business Architecture)
Mario Gauthier (CHRC) ABBA (Activity Based Business Architecture) The project ABBA (Activity Based Business Architecture) is the new Canadian Human Rights Commission classification plan for filing RIDMS documents. 7 Fernand Chevalot (CSA)
Implementation and Operation Project of the electronic documents retention schedule in GCDocs As one of the first departments to apply retention and disposition schedules on its 7 million electronic documents, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) document management team successfully met a logistical and technical challenge by implementing a disposition calendar and applying retention schedules to the GCDocs classification structure.

Erica Henderson (CSE) CSE's transformational IM initiative CSE’s transformational IM initiative aims to shift the organization’s philosophical outlook from simply managing information, to providing responsive business-oriented services across a broad range of information disciplines. This initiative encompasses three pillars: people, services and governance.

9 Christian Perrier (ESDC) Enterprise Record Disposition Process
ESDC’s Enterprise Records Disposition Process was built to replace an outdated disposition process. This new electronic tracking tool facilitates the planning and reporting in disposition of all records and tracks disposition nationwide.

10 Federal Geospatial Platform Initiative
David Harper (NRCan) Federal Geospatial Platform Initiative The Federal Committee on Geomatics and Earth Observations (FCGEO) currently oversees the Federal Geospatial Platform (FGP), a collaborative online environment where the government’s most relevant geospatial information can be found easily and viewed on maps to support decision-making, foster innovation and provide better service for Canadians. 

11 Electronic Image Management Program
Michelle Nowlan (DND) Electronic Image Management Program The Electronic Image Management Programme sets the conditions to allow the Department to start legally digitizing its record holdings and replacing the physical record with the electronic image.

12 Royal Canadian Navy CASC - Command Analytics Support Centre
Timothy Gibel (DND) Royal Canadian Navy CASC - Command Analytics Support Centre RCN Command Analytics is a command led process that pairs leading edge technology with decision makers in order to understand and evolve naval readiness across all business lines. It incorporates the platform tools, data, processes and people within the RCN in order to deliver reports and analytics. Picture Placeholder

Winner will be featured for a presentation at the next edition of the IM Symposium.
