Los Angeles – warm leads, taking longer than anticipated 3 Confirmed Board Members New Grants to support increase number of children are out September shaping up to build increased awareness through: partnership with Orangetheory Fitness, potential Pepperdine Volunteer day participation, and cause marketing campaign with Happy Dot Box Looking into working with a group to do a curated luncheon of potential board members Working to have board members to start January 2018 Atlanta – most receptive, positive responses 3 Confirmed Board Members, with 3 more very interested individuals Working to secure partnership with Atlanta Food Bank; including giving an honoree Advisory Board position to their CEO Initial meetings in May resulted, Home Depot is doing a packing event with team members on August 9, 2018 Working to have board members to start January 2018; bringing potential members together in August asking them to bring at least 2 potential members with them D.C. – running on fumes Disappointingly, D.C. did not produce the warm welcome we had anticipated. Only a few people showed interest, after several attempts at contact, no response resulted in us being at zero support Current political climate seems to be more of a priority than another charity. Continuing to work improve ways to cultivate partnerships and solicit members. New Markets Los Angeles Atlanta D.C

3 New Market Lessons Learned & Next Steps
After Atlanta, it became clear that cities where both extreme poverty and wealth exist, where there is NOT an over saturation of charities is an ideal spot for BIB Setting more one-on-one meetings as opposed to events served in better quality conversations and results In Atlanta and L.A., will continue to do cold calls, submitting BIB to corporations that have a board banks, use connections to make warm introductions, looking at networking group events to attend D.C. need to reevaluate the best way to succeed here, as the climate will always be different than other cities Proposing that Advisory Boards funds be used for; Board dues for MD compensation package Fundraising dollars would be split (as an example): 10% to cover board cost 50% to support a school – The Atlanta Advisory Board Funded 40% to assist local PCs (almost as a grant) New Market Lessons Learned & Next Steps

4 Continuing to build advisory boards in ATL, LA, and DC will continue to be the priority
We are looking into cities such as: Nashville, New Orleans, and Denver for next rollouts We will begin initial research into these markets, by reaching out to establish (and strengthen) relationships prior to making visits We will complete an existing market such as Atlanta, then would add one of the FY18 markets into the rotation. We will not set exact dates, but move with more fluidly New, New Markets FY18

5 We made the move from Gmail to Outlook
We made the move from Gmail to Outlook. Next step is to have all staff trained on all the products that are included in 365 by outside source (included in current budget) Looking at moving away from DropBox to SharePoint TECH Friend and Foe!

6 Additional Financial Requests not included in current budget
HR Budget – Requesting in HR’s budget $750 per/mon starting Nov ‘18 for HR consulting. $750 results in 24 hours/3 days of work per/mon. I would ask for  an increase to $1,680 per/mon for 7 days per/mon work to continue the strides in HR policies, to keep up with ever-changing state laws, and to continue to coach BIB team members Tech Budget - Requesting 6k for capital investments. Computers need to be replaced, and we need to have reserves for ongoing tech issues, from equipment needs to having an outsourced tech service provider New Market - Requesting an additional 5k to my budget to work with companies that can help curate a board in targeted markets to speed up the MD hiring process. Additional Financial Requests not included in current budget

7 HR Human Capitol, BIB’s greatest asset
Revised BIB Handbook and Policy update – since the March board meeting the revisions approved were updated and an All Staff meeting took place to review all changes. All staff signed the updated acknowledgement form. Overall, the new policies and enhanced benefits have been very well received and appreciated. During the All Staff meeting, staff were informed of the shift that will take place January 2018 to an accrual process from PTO bank, and that a meeting mid-June would take place to go over scenarios of how this will impact their PTO and the rate at which they will accrue. A job and pay grading evaluation is underway; this exercise is also establishing BIB’s compensation philosophy.  Results of non-compete discussion HR Human Capitol, BIB’s greatest asset
