GPRS based Wireless Sensors Network
Implementation of a WSN using a global system for mobile communication modem: all sensors communicate their data to a protected FTP area connected with centralized server software; the server has control over individual meteorological stations and multi-sensor nodes; every measurement node is autonomous and can communicate individually from the other nodes; in this way the measurement network becomes a real system with distributed intelligence; users can dynamically set the alarm thresholds from the centralized server software. Advantages of GPRS wireless transmission: GPRS modems join with microcontroller unit can provide instant alerts using SMS or or by transmitting data to the FTP Area with a faster sample rate based on alarm conditions. The alarms will be checked from centralized software getting a useful for fault tolerance and redundancy controls; wide covering area, able to remotely monitor, high monitoring precision, fast network establishment and reasonable cost; GPRS is a mature technology, wide covering area, long communication distance; Low power consumption and easy installation.
