The Independence Hall is one of the most important historical landmarks in the United States. Major steps towards independence were taken here by delegates of the English colonies, amongst them George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson.

9. Franklin Institute Science Museum

10. Christ Church
Christ Church is a historic church built in the eighteenth century in Georgian style. It is one of the most important churches from the colonial era; many prominent figures of the American Revolution attended services here.

Philadelphia's Masonic Temple, one of the city's most interesting architectural gems, is the home of The Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania. Many of America's Founding Fathers were Freemasons.
