Free Enterprise System – Type of economy where people own and run their own businesses
Supply and Demand – Supply is the amount of goods available and demand is the desire to own something and the ability to pay for it
Profit – The degree to which persons or organizations are better off financially at the end of a time period
Profit is the motivational force in a free enterprise
system.
Overproduction of agricultural products such as cotton and oil led to a drop in prices which led to a small or no profit. This caused many businesses to close during the Great Depression.
