3. WHAT DOES THE RETRO STYLE STAND FOR?
Back to 50's until early 70's this style have been started in the field of interior design. "retro style is an eclectic mix of old styles and new forms, or new forms with old materials and finishes.“
Large and big or even small patterns
bright colors - and funky colored
thick and bold lines
geometric repetitive patterns
mix or match between solids and patterns
curvilinear and circular furniture are classic type of retro style
leather, wood, and lacquer finished furniture favor plastic, metal, glass and rubber over wood+ rugs
look old, but are brand new
modern minimalism: few retro pieces that have simple curves and lines
retro modern style enjoys free forms that are fluid in nature and appeal
retro decorating colors include certain greens and yellows, pink, purple, red, black, white. retro is characterized by bright color schemes not only in the decor but also artworks and posters.
