13 VGGT Learning Programmes: a blended learning approach
Online Face-to-face Post-workshop online mentoring 2 weeks via an online collaborative platform Interactive lessons, quizzes, tutored discussions and online group work activities under the guidance of VGGT experts 1 week Intensive face-to-face participatory workshop built on issues highlighted during the on line workshop. Additional topics through lectures, guest-speakers presentations and group work Learning need assessment: review, consolidate and prioritise relevant subject areas for each target audience in each country; and identify which organizations/institutions from the countries should participate in the learning programmes. Online collaborative workshops: Consisting of e-learning materials, tutored discussions and country based online group activities under the guidance of subject experts. Face 2 face workshops: Learning event in which will participants will build on the subjects covered online and undertake country specific analysis related to the VGGT. Post-workshop Online Mentoring: An expert will be available to provide support to participants for 3 months following the face-to-face workshop. 1 month The mentoring system will provide participants with the opportunity to further discuss and receive support for implementing their VGGT related projects

E-learning modules Making tenure rights more secure Managing changes and tenure reforms Markets Responsible agricultural investments for private sector Assessing country situation with respect to the VGGT Introduction to the responsible governance of tenure Addressing disputes and conflicts over the tenure of natural resources Addressing corruption in the tenure of land, fisheries and forests Tenure issues in the context of natural disasters Gender and land Valuation and taxation Respecting free, prior and informed consent Agricultural investments (governments) Monitoring and promoting policy change Spatial planning Available in English, French and Spanish with Arabic to follow Over 16,000 learners CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT IS SPREAD OVER SEVERAL SLIDES – KEEP TEMPO We developed several e-learning modules that can be used as stand-alone modules or that can be part of a dedicated Learning Programme (SUBJECT OF NEXT SLIDE). The e-learning courses are offered in subjects with a high learning demand. Up to 15 courses will be available by late 2016. Courses already available address an introduction into the “Voluntary Guidelines”, disputes and conflicts over the tenure of natural resources, corruption in the tenure of natural resources, tenure in the context of natural disasters, gender and spatial planning.
