Remember that when analyzing literature we are looking for what the author does to communicate his/her message.
In this case, conflict was the ‘tool’ we focused on and what did its use ‘do’?
Solid Sample:
In “Two Kinds,” the conflict between mother and daughter represents the conflict between two cultural identities. (could use some more specificity – perspectives?)
In “Two Kinds” the pressure from Jing Mei’s mother causes her to abandon hope of fitting the perfect image that she sets for her.
