1689- Spain discovers the French colony
1690- Alonso De Leon establishes the first missions in East Texas
1716 – Spanish return to east Texas to establish missions and presidios to be a buffer between Spain and French Louisiana.
1718- San Antonio de Valero established
French establish New Orleans
1719- France declares war on Spain in Europe (spills into New World) Chicken War
1722- Los Adaes becomes unofficial capital of Texas
1731- East Texas Missions of San Francisco Mission Concepcion and the San Jose Mission are all moved to San Antonio
15 families (55 people) all arrived at San Antonio de Bexar and build a village (becomes target for Lipan Apache raids
1749-Spain and Apache make peace
1785 – Spain and Comanche make peace (unite to defeat Lipan Apache)
