5. Mission Statement
The mission of the Parkview High School Counseling Department is to support and assist all students in the pursuit of excellence in academic knowledge, skills, and behavior as they develop their post-secondary plans. All students, through the participation in a comprehensive, developmental and data driven counseling program, will be provided with opportunities to achieve their greatest potential. The counselors will also effectively collaborate and consult with students, parents, teachers, administrators and community members to address and remove barriers to student success. The Counseling program ensures all students have equitable access to learn academic, career-oriented, and social/emotional skills that help them to become healthy, successful, and world-class citizens.

The Dropout number includes students who withdrew because of incarceration, Pregnant, unknown, non-attendance, court order, transfer to Department of Juvenile Justice

10. Proposed Program Goals
1) By May 25, 2016, tenth grade Hispanic/Latino students who missed 6 to 10 days in the previous school year (14-15) and 5 or more during first semester of the current school year (15-16) will miss fewer than 5 days during the second semester.
2) By May 25, 2016, the number of retained black male students in grades 9-12 from the previous school year ( ) will decrease by 50%, from 51 to 25.
3) By May 25, 2016, the drop out rate percentage of English Language Learners in grades 9-12 will decreased by 50%, from 39 to 19.5.
