Making the Connection: Take your students to the Idaho Department of Labor Jobscape website. Enter in a title of a position that relates to the courses you are teaching.

Here you will see a list of jobs that pertain to the title you chose.
Highlight how many different fields are available for this particular job title. Students should be aware they have many options with the education from your course(s). Select a title and click the Details tab for the next step.

Here we can let students know that it is not necessary to have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree For this field and that a good percent of the employed were able to do so with an Associate degree. Here we can promote Technical Colleges as routes to high wage / in-demand jobs, that provide Certified individuals to the labor force in a shorter amount of time with less debt. Secretaries and Administrative Assistants, Except Legal, Medical, and Executive
Job description Perform routine clerical and administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, or providing information to callers. For students who are considering going on to college but do not know where to Start, they can visit the Next Steps website and find grade specific checklists to Determine what they should be doing at different grade levels to prepare to Go-On! Checklists are available from 8th to 12th grade.

Advanced Opportunities
Dual Credit - DC Technical Competency Credits – TCC & Badges Academic courses such as English, Spanish, Science, etc. Register with the corresponding college offering the DC before the class begins $65 - Fast Forward Funds eligible Grade & credits go directly on the respective college transcript and high school transcript affecting your GPA. Warning! If you do poorly or fail Dual Credit courses it can negatively affect your financial aid (FAFSA will not pay for remediation courses) Career & Technical skill based courses such as Culinary, Automotive, Welding, etc. Register in CATEMA or SkillStack at the beginning of a CTE skill based course After finishing the course/program, passing with an “A” or “B” and any required testing, paying the $10 per credit – Not Fast Forward eligible Credits are purchased after students determine how they want to use them after high school. They can be transferred to any college that will accept them. *Please make sure they will benefit you by asking the Registrar at the receiving college.

Ways TCC Credits & Badges Can Be Used
Credits are designed to help you enter and complete the corresponding college program by not having to retake classes you already took in high school, allowing you to finish a degree with less debt and enter a high demand - high paying job more quickly. Certain Branches of the military offer pay grade increase incentives for individuals who enter the military with prior college credits. In some cases, receiving colleges will allow certain credits to be used as electives if they do not match the program of study a student has chosen. Warning! – Always check with the college of your choice to make sure the elective credits will not harm your total elective allotment towards graduation or financial aid status. Badges can be used as proof of skills on resumes when applying for jobs. It is important for students to know there are multiple ways to utilize TCC credits and badges

If you get this reply in RED, then go to the upper right hand corner of your screen, select NEW STUDENT ACCOUNT and proceed. If you get this message and you know you have done this before for a different class or at a different school, notify your teacher, they can seek help or try a different school if you know it was somewhere else.

Please make sure the information you enter is your full and legal information. (This is who and where we will send your eligibility information to) If you do not know your SS#, please enter the following: 00 and your telephone number without the area code ex (use your own phone# please) Choose the program that corresponds to the course you are taking. All fields that are bold with a * are required.

When you get to this screen,
Verify if the information is correct SAVE your Username & Password somewhere safe Then select Yes If something needs fixed, select NO and edit it then save

If you get this reply, select CREATE A NEW ENROLLMENT RECORD

Select the appropriate course info from each drop down field then select Submit
The course should show up under My Classes For The Year. Once you have all of the classes submitted, You may log-out.

Now what? After passing your course, and any required exams, A letter should arrive to the mailing address you provided us upon registration identifying the process of purchasing your credit. You then have 2 years from the time you complete the course to identify how and where you want to use the credits and purchase them.
