Dear Professor/To whom it may concern________: Greetings, I am very sorry to disturb, my name is___and I am very interested in interning with your organization if possible please. I am currently a full-time undergraduate student at _____________ studying_______. In addition, I am studying at the American University in Cairo School of Continuing Education. While at AUC, I recently became aware of your amazing organization which helps future entrepreneurs learn more about the field. This past summer I was a intern at Eventtus.com here in Cairo. I was responsible for investigating new ideas and developing projects in 2 main areas: technology and startups. The opportunity to work with CEO Ms. Mai Medhat helped me gain firsthand insight into the world of entrepreneurship here in the Middle East. By attending technology conferences as well, I was also able to learn from other aspiring entrepreneurs and gained new skills in the field of project management and social media marketing. It is my goal to continue gaining new skills in this field both here in Cairo and abroad. In the future, I hope to study abroad, hence, I am currently preparing for the IELTS as well. I would be very grateful if you could please advise as to any current internship vacancies in your organization? Kindly please find my Resume attached below. I also have letters of recommendation from my Professors/Volunteer Program Directors as well. Thank you so much for your time and help. I hope to have my zeal and enthusiasm made known in person. Thank you so much. Respectfully, 6

8 Describe a small business that you would like to own
Describe a small business that you would like to own. Describe the business, how you would start/open this business, and explain why you would like to run this kind of business. Well that's an interesting question. Quite frankly, since I am still a University student, I cannot realistically open my own business anytime in the near future. Nevertheless, since I am majoring in business, I have definitely given this goal much thought. First of all, entrepreneurship is my dream. I love books, reading and the “coffeeshop culture”. Hence, creating a business centered around “knowledge and learning” in a relaxed environment is definitely a part of my personality. I have traveled to both Europe and the United States and dream of opening a bookstore that has the same “atmosphere” as Barnes and Noble. For example, here in Cairo we have the successful Diwan Bookstore which is very similar to a European “Bookstore Cafe”. In addition,my future business would not only sell books, but would also have a cozy “Starbucks” type cafe inside the bookstore. As a result, customers would be able to sit down and read books, while enjoying fine coffee, beautiful artwork, and international classical music . Generally speaking, opening any “brick and mortar” business is not easy these days. One needs both experience and money for the deposit, rent etc. to begin a successful business. Rent is very high everywhere around the world. Consequently, I am currently working now part-time at a local bookstore in my neighborhood to gain experience, and in order to save money. Moreover, I am learning web design online in order to build a website for my business. I hope to save enough money by graduation to rent a small shop and start my dream! Overall, I realize entrepreneurship is a challenging dream. However, I am taking “small steps” now in my life towards my goal and someday hope to be the next “Barnes and Noble” of the Middle East. tt

10 Dear Editor, You posted a very interesting situation common amongst job seekers nowadays. I also struggled like the individual in your , however, I am now employed and looking forward to studying abroad soon, and becoming an entrepreneur in the future as well.   In my opinion, job hunters just need to change a few things to see positive results.Young people should remember to take steps early in their life to gain experience and build up their CV, otherwise they will have to work unpaid after graduation until they build up their CV. First of all, I suggest having your CV looked over by a professional career counselor at your University. My career counselor was able to give me valuable insight about both my CV and cover letter. I was ing hundreds of employers without any luck. I had academic letters of recommendations from my Professors, but no professional recommendations. Consequently, my career counselor provided professional career advice, and helped me improve my CV before continuing to it to employers. Second of all, anyone looking for work must take steps early while in the University to gain experience whether paid or unpaid. The connections and experience are more important than the money. For example, employers want to see a “well rounded CV” with internships, volunteer work, IELTS test results and other respected professional Certificates. In addition, everyone should learn as many “United Nations” languages as possible. Unfortunately, I did not do anything while in the University, and was embarrassed of my CV since it was practically empty! I took the year following graduation to intern, volunteer, take the IELTS, learn French and gather Certificates so I could gain some experience in my field of interest. Quite frankly, my internship director has been wonderful and I am learning so much from this internship. In fact, since I have been here for 6 months, they are willing to hire me full-time after I complete the internship, and provide me with a letter of recommendation! I personally believe students should be encouraged from their first year in the University to start doing internships, a part- time job and volunteer work. Many of my friends, including myself, now have full-time employment with the same organization because of it. Remember, dreams only come true when you take action. Keep trying and don't give up! Thank you for your time.

First of all or On the one hand, advantages.. For example: 1) Students (research, e-learning, homework help..) In addition, 2) Professionals (entrepreneurs (For Example Ameer Sharif?) Furthermore, 3) General public (Free International communication/apps), Personally speaking...I also use Viber... On the other hand... disadvantages..For instance: 1) Students (Facebook, no critical thinking, distracted, unable to study) Moreover, 2) Professionals (privacy issues, loss of reputation & concentration may get fired) Finally, 3) General Public (loss of creativity, libraries closed, no interest in reading or volunteering or working harder) As a result, → Free Time wasted → physiological problems most people are “addicted to “Social media” Facebook... → Unsuccessful future Overall, even though.... many advantages, Quite Frankly most people do not use the Internet for educational or business purposes, Hence, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages 16
