FSC Site Working Information Card: Fenn’s Moss (for A Level Carbon Fieldwork) Site Information In the event of an accident / incident: Access / Egress: From Ellesmere drive up A495 in north-east direction. Turn right into Conery Lane (located on the right in a lay-by with a house just after turn off for Bronnington) and follow track to locked gate on to rail way lane – remember to bring the key! Lock gate behind you exactly as found. Drive along railway track most of the way along it until you reach Old Fenn’s Works – park here. Ensure a fire truck can get by if needed along both tracks. Walk back along track to chain 1.18 (approx. SJ584371). Upon return to minibuses, continue to drive along railway track until reaching another locked gate. Again lock this behind you exactly as you found it. Continue along track until you come into a small village. On meeting a small country lane, turn right to take you back to join the A495. Turn left on to A495 to return to Ellesmere. Track is suitable for coaches if they are willing to use it but not ideal for them to wait around and they cannot go away and return due to locked gates Parking: Old Fenn’s Works – grass near stone piles has hard standing underneath to park on, ensure not blocking any gates and fire truck could get past if needed Stay calm and decide how best to manage the situation Ensure Safety and Welfare of whole group Deal with immediate Injuries Evacuate or phone 112 / 999 Phone Preston Montford Complete Incident Card Page 2 of 3
