2-2. System Configuration(2)
DSP (Digital Signal Processor) Cards To digitally process audio signals, such as a telephone call, the PBX must use a certain number of DSP resources. DSP resources are provided by the DSP cards installed in the PBX. Since there are a limited number of DSP resources, no further operations (e.g., telephone calls, playing an OGM) can be performed if all resources are being used. There are 3 types of DSP cards. - DSP-S / DSP-M / DSP-L The DSP capacity (processing performance) can be expanded. - Up to 2 DSP cards can be installed to the PBX. -> The combination of mounting is free. The following list shows some of the basic operations that require DSP resources. DSP is used for almost all services related to voice communication. Therefore, at least one DSP-S, DSP-M, or DSP-L card must be installed in one of the DSP card slots. Choose appropriate DSP according to the customer requirement. - VoIP calls - Conferences - Unified Messaging feature - DISA /OGM feature *Refer to the "DSP" part for details.
11
2-2. System Configuration(3)
SM (Storage Memory) Cards SM Card is required for using Unified messaging features. There are 4 types of SM cards. ->SM (installed by Default) / SM-S (:200h) / SM-M (:450h) / SM-L (:1000h) The Unified Messaging feature can be used with even only SM (installed by default) . ->2ch /2h If you need to expand the available recording time or available UM ports, Activation Key is required. -> The maximum number when expanded :30ch /15h Storage memory card Built into Main unit NS1000 SM An optional SM card (SM-S, SM-M, -SM-L) is used to expand the capacity of the recording time for Unified Messaging feature. Install an optional SM card (SM-S, SM-M, -SM-L) as necessary. *Refer to the "Unified Messaging" part for details.
12
2-2. System Configuration(4)
USB Interface USB interface provides communication between the PBX and user-supplied devices such as a UPS or USB memory device. ->The PBX is equipped with a USB 2.0 interface. Using a USB memory device A USB memory device can be used to backup and restore the system data of the PBX. The PBX supports USB memory devices that meet the following specifications: ->File system: FAT /Maximum capacity: 32 GB /Maximum current: 500 mA Using a UPS USB interface is used for the following services; USB memory device connection : System Data Backup / Restore, etc. UPS connection : Automatic shutdown process for when AC power goes out. A UPS is a device that supplies power for several minutes to a connected device when a power failure occurs. *Refer to the “Maintenance" part for details.

2-2. System Configuration(5)
Physical Interface Cards 4 types of Line cards and 1 type of Doorphone card are available for NS1000. Physical Trunk and Extension cards : [LCOT2 + SLC2] [BRI4 + SLC2] [PRI30 + SLC2] [PRI23 + SLC2] For example, if "LCOT2 + SLC2" card is installed in the PBX, 2 analog trunks and 2 SLTs can be used. [Physical Trunk and Extension Card ] [DOORPHONE Card]=Doorphone card - BRI4+SLC2 Card - LCOT2+SLC2 Card - PRI30+SLC2 Card - PRI23+SLC2 Card Line cards are used to connect physical trunks and extensions. Choose an appropriate Line card according to the customer requirement. DPH1 card is used to connect the doorphones and door opener/external relays. Install the DPH1 card as necessary. NS1000 has 1 Free Slot for “Physical Trunk and Extension card" and 1 Doorphone Slot for “DOORPHONE card".

Frame Earth Connection. 1. Loosen the screw. 2. Insert an earthing wire (user-supplied). 3. Tighten the screw. 4. Connect the earthing wire to earth. WARNING Proper earthing (connection to earth) is very important to reduce the risk to the user of electrocution or to protect the PBX from the bad effects of external noise in the case of a lighting strike. The earthing wire of the AC cable has an effect against external noise and lighting strikes, but it may not be enough to protect the PBX and to ensure electromagnetic compatibilty. A permanent connection between earth and the earth terminal of the PBX must be made. CAUTION For earthing wire, green-and-yellow insulation is required, and the cross-sectional area of the conductor must be more than 0.75 mm2 or 18AWG. 37
