Fayetteville NC.28301 Volume 1, Issue 5 January 2017 Living Well Spotlight Happenings in the SCDAA World SCDAA is pleased to announce the 2017 Community Health Worker (CHW) Certification Training. This certification involves: coursework online, 40 hours of field work, and at the conclusion students must pass a final exam. Who should apply? Anyone with a passion for community health When does classes take place? January 30th 2017 What is the cost? $800 plus the cost of textbook How do I Apply Complete application at: Did you Know! Just about anything can cause a crisis? Especially the change in weather. It has been documented that more individuals with sickle cell disease have reported pain crisis during the colder months as opposed to the warmer months. This is because the cold weather constricts the blood vessels making it hard for the red blood cells to travel throughout the body. Doctors recommend dressing appropriately for the weather, staying hydrated, and limiting the amount of time in cold climates. Upcoming Events: office will be closed 16th January We are proud to honor Janet McEachern as our spotlight client of the month. She currently works as a certified nursing assistance providing home health care. Janet has two sons and one grandchild. She enjoys going to church, spending time with her family and traveling. Janet stays healthy by exercising, eating proper foods and staying positive.
