OPTIMAL RESUME https://lambton.optimalresume.ca
Reminder that Optimal Resume software program is available to you to help you build your resume and easily adjust it to make it polished and professional looking. Seek to have your resume formatting professional, easy to read but not necessarily the same as everyone else’s. Play with the formatting options to create your unique statement.
5
CANVA.COM An alternative to Optimal Resume is to create your resume on canva.com. Canva has dozens of templates for many projects, including resumes. I have a couple of examples I’ll show you later in the presentation. NOTE: For our purposes, do NOT include a picture of yourself on the resume.

PROGRAM CAPABILITY SHEET
There is too much information to copy the content line by line, you will need to review the information and select key points that will be of interest to the employer you are seeking to impress. Consider things like the type of industry the employer represents; what is in their job posting as required or ideal skill sets. Put the items in order Strongest to Weakest from the perspective of the employer (CPET & PETC always start with your 4th Class exams)

DETAILS MATTER! PERFECT spelling & grammar (if this is not your strong suit, ask an English Prof if he/she would be willing to review your cover letter & resume for you. Keep the focus on what you have to offer the employer NOT what the employer can offer you. On average, 2 out of every 3 applicants will not get an interview. Make sure your resume/cover letter is not the reason you did not make the cut! Pay attention to things like: Do you have the proper spelling of the person you are addressing the letter to? Have you used the proper name of your program?: CHEMICAL PRODUCTION & POWER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY CHEMICAL PRODUCTION & POWER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY - ACCELERATED POWER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY
