1 Cell Phones and Driving
On November 2, 2007, Governor Jon S. Corzine signed into law a bill which amends N.J.S.A. 39: to make the use of a wireless hand-held telephone or electronic communication device by the operator of a moving motor vehicle a primary offense Fine: $100, with no points assessed.

2 Accidents HAPPEN! Jersey, police reported 3,580 accidents statewide involving cell phones in 2006 The number of crashes involving hands-free and hand-held devices were about evenly split -- 1,854 to 1,726. And of the 11 fatal crashes among the total, six involved drivers using hand-held devices and five involved drivers using hands-free ones.

3 The Proof is in the Pudding
University of Utah study that found motorists who talk on cell phones while driving are as impaired as drunken drivers with blood-alcohol levels at the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
