Artistic Statement Portraits bore me.
Portraits are full of people with emotional and physical problems. Portraits are mostly black and white and very dull. Abstract photographs give a sense of mystery, but a taste of the unseen. The colors can be intriguing and luring. They can make you wonder for hours on end or sometimes only 30 seconds of whom or what it really is. Abstracts can last a lifetime, but portraits are just for the beauty or dilemma of that period. Black and photography is my torture. Black and white photographs make the final product seem old, used, monotonous, and fragile. It is as if the photographer is scared about using color because it might be too much or too little. Not using color is to a high school student not using notes for finals. It is uncalled for! Color brings out the environment, culture, emotion, texture etc. of every single photograph someone takes. Color gives a punch in photography and now I use it more often.

Biography Born into a world of color I was partially blind to them. All I could see were shapes and primary colors. As I grew older I became more accustom to the difference of colors in crayons and paints, but I still didn’t know what seeing true color really meant. I started to come to my senses in a freshman-filled class that I call Digital Photography 1. There I learned about the basics of colors and where they came to be. Stepping up to the next level in photography I gave my heart and soul into the simple subject of Color Theory, but it really wasn’t that simple. I had to study what I was going to be capturing in my photographs, not just taking snapshots of whatever caught my eye. Color surges through my photography and now I truly can see the world of color today.
