Mike has been working as a photographer and photography instructor since 1980, starting out as a darkroom technician and photo journalist for a local newspaper. Throughout the next couple decades he expanded his photographic skills with experience in travel, aerial, theatrical, and sports photography.  Shooting thousands of portraits and over 200 weddings has allowed him to master the art of making people comfortable in front of the camera and helping them to look their best while capturing the significant moments in their lives. During his 14 years as a full time photography teacher in Kenya he was studying constantly in order to facilitate the transition from film to digital. Along the way he earned Certified Expert status in Photoshop from Adobe. Utilizing his Photoshop skills and images from 70 African photo safaris he has created an extensive portfolio of fine art animal portraits and landscapes. Returning to his home town of Trenton, Ontario he has opened his own portrait studio and become established as an expert in artwork reproduction, photo restoration, and fine art printing on a variety of media. Mike still loves to teach, and is a regular presenter at area camera clubs as well as teaching workshops in Photoshop, Lightroom, and lighting technique.
