8 Associated Honours Class
Assessment Methods Percentage Rate Associated Honours Class 70 – 100% First Class 60 – 69% Second Class (Upper Division) 50 – 59% Second Class (Lower Division) 40 – 49% Third Class 30 – 39% Fail which may be compensated 20 – 29% Fail which cannot be compensated 0 – 20% Fail – In any one component of assessment : This is below the minimum mark that must be achieved in each element of assessment in order to pass a module overall. N Fail due to Non Submission which cannot be compensated. (No further attempt allowed without engagement on 2nd attempt.) (No further attempt allowed without a previous submission on a 3rd attempt.)

9 Minimum Marks for Components of Assessment
In order to achieve a pass in a module, it is necessary to receive a minimum of 20% (grade point 3 standard) in each component of assessment of that module. Achieving < 20% in any component of assessment will result in a fail grade point being recorded. This obviously means that it is important to ensure that you make a good attempt at every assessment for a module. You will not be able to omit an assessment or do very little towards an assessment in the hope that your aggregate mark will give you a pass in the module.
