The Total Quality Management
The end of the 20th century and beginning of the 21st century is the time of industry revolution 4.0. In this revolution TQM is very important. Nowadays the Total Quality Management plays an important part in social and private life.

The Total Quality Management
John Bank in his book „The Essence of Total Quality Management” (Prentice Hall 1992) describes improving the quality of products and services (we can add: library services).

Cultural centre Nowadays, a modern library is a local cultural center, which means that the library, apart from the objectives formulated by law, should take the initiative to organize educational and cultural events. Therefore, the library’s management must be based on its appropriately prepared staff.

What has been improved? The Libraries are changing and improving their spaces, the attitude to the reader (now it is a customer/user) and in the service and offer (new functions).

Complementary and expanding offer
The Library is doing all the best to have a most complementary and expanding offer. There are some examples of it.

Our events: Movie projections;
Soirees with artists, authors, musicians, dancers; Theatre performances; Concerts; Exhibitions of film stills, photographs, paintings, cartoons, posters; Readings;

Other events Courses, different handicraft workshops, Cafe language meetings with foreign language conversation; meetings with travelers. Meetings with foreign culture – Spain in books of M.B.Kann (Barcelona, typical Spanish tapas, music and dance)

Our offer for readers. Once a week a meeting with professional teacher, advanced level and beginners. 1) English conversation; 2) German conversation.

Reader’s opinion First of all, we continuously have contact with our users, they leave their opinion on evaluation forms, they call us, speak with us through the departments “I visit Norwid Library, I evaluate, my opinion is important”/ „Chodzę do Norwida, oceniam. Moje zdanie jest ważne”.

Caricatures and International Open Cartoon Contest
exhibition of prize-winners are presented in our Gallery and in different places in Poland and abroad. We co-operate with Berlin International Cartoon Contest and will show the artworks of this Contest.

Zielona Góra Film and Theatre Festival
We invite the people of cinema/movie, theatre, movie-directors and actors, musicians. The ZGF&T Festival has different series, such as Border Cinema, FilmFestival Cottbus presents…’, ’Lubuski religious retreats’, ’theatre master workshops’; involving young people as volunteers in the Festival; Hereby we present a lot of ZGF&TF events.

Walking on stilts Walking people promote the festival. They invitate children and aduld auditors for cartoon projection.

Monodrama at an old railway station
Unexpected place for the Festival events: a tent, an old railway station, a big hall at the Zielona Góra University, a wine cellar (cafe) e.t.c.

Authors of crime stories meet on Film and Theatre Festival
Duel – writing the story during the meeting with audience. One person starts, the next author adds next few sentences. And on this way the full crime story was invented.

Every year the Festival announces a contest for best Polish movie, best actor/actress in supporting role, and for the artist’s (film director or actor) work as a whole and the winners receive a statuette KLAPS.

DramaFestival A festival of Polish and German dramas with theatre performances, monodramas, meetings with actors, theatre directors, dramatists, workshops, reading rehersals, panel discussions, exhibitions. We have invited dramatists from Poland and from Germany, famous Polish actors and actresses, Piccolo Theater - a Children Theatre from Cottbus, Germany, which presented “Wind, Wind” - a play without words for small children and babies (1,5 – 3 years old). The festival was popular and well appraised by the audience.

Poetry at the Reading Room
Zielonogórski Salon Poezji Krakowski Salon Poezji w Zielonej Górze Czytelnia dramatu Czytanie performatywne/ performative reading ’Iwona czyli te nieznośne godziny’ (adaptation of Witold Gombrowicz play). A wide palette ot theatre performances, poetry at the reading room with famous stars attracting the audience.

The priorities of today’s Library are: development of human capital, modernization of the library and raising finances for its development as well as perceiving library as a place of disseminating knowledge, culture and information and developing and promoting its research status. We do thus.
