2. Youth unemployment situation
Youth within 15 to 34 years age bracket constitute 40 percent of the labour force
Youth unemployment rate is 12.8 percent, and increasing,
Graduates along the various educational ladder.
Medium to long-term national security concerns
“oxygen is to a fire, so is unemployed youths to insurgencies”.
Need for a paradigm shift in the approach

create sustainable employment.

3. Agriculture is the key
Gov’t Created The Youth in Agriculture Programme
Agriculture has the highest potential to employ the youth
Mandate:
create REAL businesses
absorb the youth
unique allocation of resources from various sources
