Amelia Earhart A woman who changed history.

2 Amelia’s Childhood Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897 in Atchison, Kansas. She had always been daring even as a child. When She was a little girl she had once taken 2 wooden boards laid them from the top of the shed to the ground and took a box and slid down the boards like a roller coaster.

3 Amelia’s Struggles Her family struggled to get money when she was a child. So Amelia had to keep lots of jobs like: She was a nurse during world war 1 for the program The Walking Wounded, she was an author and a pilot.

4 Accomplishments On October ,1922 she set the women’s altitude record of 14,000 feet. She was the first woman to fly the Atlantic Ocean. She also won the Flying cross. She was the first woman to get that award.

5 Family Amelia had a younger sister that she called Muriel. Her father was named Edward and her mother’s name was Amy. Amelia had a husband George Putman. They had no children.

6 Amelia showed people that men are equal to women and if you set your mind to it you can do anything.
