10. MATERNAL DEATH
The death of woman while pregnant or within 42 days of termination of pregnancy, irrespective of duration and site of pregnancy from any cause related to or aggravated by pregnancy or its management but not from accident or incidental causes

11. MATERNAL MORTALITY RATE
DEFINED as the no. of maternal death per 100,000 live births for the same period
MMR= Total no. of female death due to complication of preg, child birth or within 40 days of delivery from puerperal causes in an area during a given area

13. Perinatal mortality definition
Perinatal period extends from 28th week of gestation to less than 7 days of life, after birth.
The term “perinatal mortality” includes both late feotal deaths (stillbirths) and early neonatal deaths.

World Health Organization defines perinatal mortality as the "number of stillbirths and deaths in the first week of life per 1,000 total births,
