2. Opening Prayer
Loving God, hear our prayers today; prayers of sadness that remember men, women, girls and boys who have died in war; prayers of thanksgiving for the courage of those who have been peacemakers; prayers of hope for a world where war is a distant memory. Kindly hear these prayers and lead us closer to your heart. This we pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

God of hope, you gave us the wonderful power to choose. It is within our power to choose peace and not war, to choose friendship and not fighting, to choose love and not hatred. We pray for your guidance to help us choose to become people of peace. Amen
