4 AFSA: Who We Are AFSA was organized in 1981 to provide merit shop fire sprinkler contractors with training, consulting, communication, representation and many more services, all of which have expanded over its existence AFSA represents over 900 Fire Sprinkler Contractors, 175 Manufacturer & Supplier Associates, 90 Designers, and 100+ Authorities Having Jurisdiction across the United States and around the world We are a Contractor Driven organization with a Contractor-only Board of Directors

6 Technical Resources Access to Informal Interpretations, which are written interpretations available from the AFSA Technical Services Department, on any subject related to automatic fire sprinklers These “informal” interpretations are generated from the AFSA library, NFPA Standards, building codes and the knowledge gained as members of NFPA Technical Committees (such as 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 22, 24, and 25) Think of us as an “Extension of your Design Staff” Exclusive Members-Only access to past informal interpretations on the AFSA website Receive weekly technical information through AFSA’s Tech Update
