Our members provide £2.5m homes for more than 5m people and invest in a diverse range of neighbourhood projects that help create strong, vibrant communities

11. Jenny’s story…
Jenny moved into the Great Places supported housing scheme after being evicted from a hostel where she had ended up after being thrown out of her mother’s house.
Jenny had a very young child when she was given a place at Olivia Lodge, a scheme for women aged who are either pregnant or have children up to the age of 5

12. Michael’s story…
Supported housing helped Michael move from homelessness to living independently, and the support he has received to help turn his life around “At Sanctuary Supported Living, we were encouraged to develop at our own pace. Staff helped us to plan how we could change our lives through developing the skills needed to live independently…”

14. Key principles
As a result of reforms to the funding of supported housing:
No-one with support needs will become homeless or end up in unsuitable accommodation.
The actual housing and support cost of delivering a quality service will be fully met, and will be flexible enough to meet changing levels of demand.
The taxpayer and those living in supported and sheltered housing will have evidence of the quality and value for money of the services being funded.
