Low Visibility Procedure
Cluj Avram Iancu Airport had alredy a procedure for LVO and it has been revised according R 139 requirements. To comply with R 216/2008, R139/2014 and CAA PIAC - AD - LVP, the LOW VISIBILITY OPERATIONS (LVO) procedure of Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport was revised together with the air navigation service provider ROMATSA D.S.N.A CLUJ. The new ”LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP) was drafted after the Self-evaluation on the ability to support condition to to ensure conditions for air operations in low visibility conditions. Low visibility procedure was made in collaboration with Air traffic service provider according to ADR.OPS.B.045 Low visibility procedures it has been submitted for approval by the Competent Authority (RCAA). Due to local condition (river crossing surrounding radio altimeter operating area), we introduced check lists for auto landing procedure to monitor autoland.
19
Low Visibility Procedure
The main objectives of the LVP procedure pursuing: Protection regarding the obstacle limitation surfaces of the runway; Maintaining accuracy, integrity and availability of information provided by gorund radio navigation aids used during aircraft departure, approach and landing; Runway in service protection against incursions; Maintaining the regulated intervention time by the rescue services and fire fighting services on the aerodrome during emergency situations. Ground movements control at the aerodrome. Supervision and control of the danger posed by the wildlife. Each of the objectives was evaluated and detailed in procedure developed with air navigation services.
