Quick Start Guide for Flex Flow Pump
DEMA Ag A
2
Installation Pump The Flexflow Pump is prewired for easy installation. Select a secure horizontal surface that is convenient to the electrical and plumbing connections that is accessible by the operator. Do not install pump in a location where the ambient temperature exceeds 120°F (50°C). The pump is suitable for most outdoor installations, shielding from direct exposure to the elements is recommended. The properties of the solutions to be metered should also be considered concerning temperature changes and effects to the poly tubing.

Setup Priming Priming – Plug in pump and set stroke knob to 100%
(To avoid damage to the pump, this adjustment should only be made while pump is running at a high stroking rate.) If fluid begins moving up suction line while pump is operating No further priming is required. If fluid is not moving, open bleed valve approximately 1 turn Until fluid begins to move. When suction line fills, close bleed valve. Do not over tighten bleed valve. Damage my occur

Setup Control Mode Options
OFF – The OFF control mode will stroke the pump at a user defined rate. From strokes per minute or per hour. Click here for programming pH Control – The pH control mode will allow the pump to stroke proportionately based on high and low pH set points. This will allow the pump to stroke faster as the pH reading moves away from the desired control level and slower as it gets closer to it. Click here for programming pH/Flow – The pH/Flow control mode uses a multiply/divide feature as a part of the programming that allows for an incoming dry contact pulse (such as from a water meter) to dictate how many times the pump will actually stroke. For example, setting the “Multiply” to 5 means that a single incoming pulse from the water meter indicates to the pump that it needs to multiply that by 5, which would cause the pump to stroke 5 times per dry contact pulse that it receives. If the pump is was set in “Divide” that signal by 5, then it would require receiving 5 dry contact pulses from the water meter before the pump would stroke once. Click here for programming

Setup Calibration All Flex Flow pumps are factory calibrated. The reading should be verified for accuracy and adjusted as per the instruction. One Point Calibration – Units can be one point calibrated by leaving the cleaned probe, on-line sensing in a known pH or ORP fluid* then entering that value in the calibration screen. See instruction manual for more calibration options. Warning: Do not allow probe to become dry! Damage will occur and a new probe may be needed. Probes typically last 6-18 months depending on installation and care * -

Programming OFF Mode Control = OFF press ENTER
OFF Strokes/ (Use UP and DOWN arrows to toggle between Min/Hr) press ENTER Use UP and DOWN arrows the change the numbers and ENTER to change position* Press ENTER to return to Control Press Menu to Save Settings * - (125 Strokes Max) This function uses the External Stop wire to start and stop the pump. The External Stop wire can be wired to most types of switches. (Pressure, Toggle…)

Programming pH Mode Press Menu
Use arrows to change Control to pH press Enter Calibrate use arrows to select Yes or No. If you already know your pH select No* Low pH – use arrows and Enter button to enter the low pH setting Low Strokes – use arrows and Enter button to enter number of strokes High pH – use arrows and Enter button to enter the High pH setting High Strokes – use arrows and Enter button to enter number of strokes High Alarm – use arrows and Enter button to enter high pH setting to alarm Low Alarm – use arrows and Enter button to enter Low pH setting to alarm Limit – use arrows and Enter button to set time for alarm limit. Reset Lmt – use arrows and Enter button to set the time before the Alarm Limit Resets. * - See manual for complete Calibration Instructions.

Programming pH /Flow Press Menu
Use arrows to change Control to pH/Flow press Enter Calibrate use arrows to select Yes or No. If you already know your pH select No* Mode: Multiply/Divide Use arrows and Enter button to select Multiply or Divide Multiply or Divide – use arrows and Enter button to set number to multiply or Divide by** Low pH – use arrows and Enter button to set the low pH level Low Strokes – use arrows and Enter button to enter number of strokes High pH – use arrows and Enter button to enter the High pH level High Strokes – use arrows and Enter button to enter number of strokes High Alarm – use arrows and Enter button to enter high pH setting to alarm Low Alarm – use arrows and Enter button to enter Low pH setting to alarm Limit – use arrows and Enter button to set time for alarm limit. Reset Lmt – use arrows and Enter button to set the time before the Alarm Limit Resets. * - See manual for complete Calibration Instructions. ** - Multiply function takes a single pulse from the water meter and allows you to multiply the Strokes. If you multiply by 5 then the pump will stroke 5 times per pulse from water meter. Divide function takes a single pulse from the water meter and allows you to divide the strokes. If you divide by 5 then it will take 5 pulses from the water meter before the pump comes on.

Maintenance Cleaning the pH Probe Disconnect probe leads from the pump
Remove probe from pipe Inspect the end of the probe for build up and contaminates Use a spray cleaner (409) on the end of the probe. Let is soak DO NOT WIPE THE END OFF THE END OF THE PROBE! This can damage the membrane of the probe! Recalibrate Re-install into the system. A well maintained pH probe should last months.
