SSCP 2004 - science and technology Highlights Plenary speakers
Deadlines The production of chemicals, nutritionals, and bio-pharmaceuticals in solid form through crystallization and precipitation is of key importance in the process industry. However, engineers, chemists, and biotechnologists are often faced with a number of difficult fundamental and practical problems when dealing with crystallization and precipitation. These include among others the control of product quality (in terms of purity and particle size distribution, PSD), the kinetics of nucleation and growth, the formation of polymorphs, the on-line monitoring of PSD and supersaturation, the mixing and the scale-up, the optimisation and the control of the process. The SSCP 2004, the 2004 Swiss Symposium on Crystallization and Precipitation, aims at addressing these issues both from a scientific viewpoint and from an application perspective. Thus, it will offer a forum for a fruitful exchange between crystallization and precipitation experts working in research institutions and in industry. Internationally renowned scientists will deliver keynote lectures, and the participants will have the chance to present their work either as oral presentation or as poster. The SSCP 2004 will be held at ETH Zurich on March 9th and 10th, 2004, and the interested participants are invited to submit abstracts and to attend the symposium.
