Presentation on theme: "I Will Sing of My Redeemer"— Presentation transcript:

1 I Will Sing of My Redeemer
Exodus15:1-18

2 After the Israelites crossed the Red sea, they offered thanks to God.
Tonight, we wish to explore what the Song of Moses says about the God for whom the Israelites were grateful.

3 The Lord is a Saving God Vv 1-10

4 The Israelites would sing unto the Lord.
Singing has often been a mode of praise & thanksgiving (Eph 5:19- 20; Col 3:16). The Israelites who are singing this hymn internalize it & make it their own (v 1).

5 God continues to be a saving God.
“Therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe” (1 Tim 4:10). “And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God” (Rev 19:1).

6 The Lord is a Solo God Vv 11-12

7 The Lord is the only real God.
He is the only God who can help me in time of need.

8 The Lord is a Steadfast God
Vv 13-18

9 God has led His people in mercy.
The Hebrew word for “steadfast love” (RSV) or “mercy” (KJV) is basically God’s commitment to His covenant. Moses & the children of Israel are here praising God for His steadfastness, His keeping of His promises.

10 Let’s make sure the lives we live demonstrate thankfulness to God!
