Interactive Notebooks Writer’s Notebook One independent book assignment per quarter All students will need a USB (PTO)

Nightly math homework checked twice a week (about one hour each night)

Grading scale 90 – 100: A 80 – 89 : B 70 – 79 : C 60 – 69 : D Below 59 : F * Effort Grades in Special Areas ** All grades, progress reports, and report cards will be on Infinite Campus. No paper copies. **

9 homework - Bring home assignments Monday – Thursday
Students are expected to complete the work and bring it in finished on the due date. If it is not complete when class begins, it is late. Students should be completing 1 – 1.5 hours of homework each night PLUS 30 minutes additional AR reading Problems: If your child is having difficulty, please let us know so we can resolve homework issues.

10 Communication - Agenda
- Sixth Grade Newsletter is ed after school every Friday - Look for School Newsletter through Parent Portal Please look over student’s work - Best way to contact us is through a BRIEF . If you don’t hear back from us after 24 hours, feel free to try ing us again. Sometimes things get filtered out through junk .

11 Field trips Renaissance Festival – March Science Camp – May 14-16
Amazing Jake’s – End of May (end of the year celebration) Approximately $200 in tax credit is needed per student.

12 SCIENCE CAMP INFORMATION
May 14-16 Located at Prescott Pines Camp just outside of Prescott. We will depart at approximately 8:30 am on Monday, May 14 We return to school at approximately 3 pm on Wednesday, May 16 The $150 per student covers: Transportation – Charter Buses Lodging Food Activities for the 3 days and 2 nights at Prescott Pines Memories to last a lifetime! 

13 Science camp chaperones
In order to be a chaperone, you must: Be fingerprinted & complete a background check Be a parent of a 6th grade Pay $100 fee Chaperones sleep in the cabins with the campers: Moms of daughters Dads of sons Chaperones will be notified at Spring Conferences

14 Behavior plan Falcon 5 Club - Earn fun activity/reward on end of week
- Reflect on week or work on missing assignments/homework in Responsibility Club

15 Other information - Independent Thinkers
- Wearing Make-Up/Colored Hair - Uniform Enforcement- Please refer to handout and CTA procedure manual (pg 20) - Pick up handouts from homeroom teacher - Sign up for Volunteering.. We love volunteers! -PTO
