What is a Still Image? A still image is a picture that is created by an actor, or a group of actors, which tells a story through the use of acting skills such as body language, facial expressions, posture, proxemics etc... It can be described like a photograph where you are positioning yourself and changing your bodies to suit the mood and setting of the location.

What do we use Still Images for?
Tell a story in a performance Initially block a large performance. Moments of action in a chorus. Help us explore a character Explore two characters relationships Explore a characters past Explore a characters key decisions

Freeze Frames Still Images differ slightly from Freeze Frames. Freeze Frames are moments of acting that have been frozen, but we are still using the same skills and asking the same questions about how to make it good.

Things to ask yourself when making Still images.
Where and how shall I stand? What do I want the audience to think? What facial expression shall I hold? Where shall I place myself in relation to others? What are the alternatives? Copyright:
