We are looking at the movement of Earth around the Sun using these resources.

Lets look at the areas/continents that are covered in darkness – what does this mean?
What about the areas that are covered with light?

Have child rotate slowly in a counterclockwise motion, until their left arm is pointed to the Sun. Ask chn if they think it is sunrise or still night.
Child continues the counterclockwise rotation until he/she faces the Sun directly. What time is now in their town? Ask student to rotate a little more. Have them stop when their right arm is pointed toward the Sun. What time of day it is? (Sunset)
