4 E-Tools & Resources for YouthBuild Grantees
The Department of Labor provides a variety of resources that can be of benefit during the planning and program operation phases of your program. This webinar is intended to share with you a snapshot of some of the resources and the benefits they can provide. #

5 YouthBuild Community of Practice (CoP)
The CoP allows YouthBuild grantees to come together to enhance capacity and form partnerships that strengthen program development and implementation, leadership in the community, and placement of program participants. #

6 YouthBuild CoP The YouthBuild CoP is a “one-stop shop” for all things YouthBuild. You will have links to every DOL YB manual and e-learning series on the CoP. You can find tipsheets and sample forms, resources and tools, all specific to running a strong YouthBuild program. You can also find YouthBuild-related TENs and TEGLs and the DOL YouthBuild Book of Knowledge on the CoP. You can ask questions of your peers, coaches and DOL staff through the CoP. You can view YouthBuild-specific Webinars on the CoP and join live chats on various topics relevant to your work. #

7 A few key e-learning series that should be reviewed:
The CoP contains 5 e-learning series that highlight various best practices related to the YouthBuild program. A few key e-learning series that should be reviewed: Is Your House in Order? Post-Program Placement and Retention Education (coming soon) #

8 Is Your House in Order? This e-learning series includes 11 videos and touches on all the basics of grant compliance. This series will help you make sure that you have the fiscal and management oversight methods in place to ensure your grant will be successful. #

9 Post-Program Placement & Retention
This 10-part e-learning series will provide your program with the best practices and tools necessary in order to meet placement and retention outcomes. They include best practices in planning for placement, engaging employer partners, using sectoral strategies, and preparing participants for careers and post-secondary education.  #

10 Education e-Learning Series
This 6-part e-learning series (coming soon) will provide your program with the strategies to support your education component. These include planning for education, staffing, teaching as it relates to program culture, and preparing youth for post- secondary education pathways. #

11 YouthBuild Program Manuals
The YouthBuild CoP also includes a series of Program Manuals that provide guidance on how to establish and manage the many important components of the YouthBuild program model. These include manuals on: Counseling and Case Management Education Construction Training Leadership Development Pathways to Long-Term Success Employer Engagement (coming soon) #

12 Department of Labor “Book of Knowledge”
This document is housed on the CoP and contains a compendium of information pertaining to grants management within DOL including: Grant compliance information Eligibility guidance Program assessment tool Links to resources relevant to YouthBuild, such as the YouthBuild Transfer Act and the Final Rule (regulations) #

13 How do I register for the YouthBuild CoP?
That’s a great question! To join the CoP, send an to: providing your name and , along with your grant organization requesting to join. There is no limit on the number of staff from a program who can join. #
