1. DIGITAL SUB-EDITOR

We’re currently seeking a Senior Sub-Editor to help us deliver quality, engaging content to the audience of our masthead digital assets including NOVA and smooth.com.au.
Working closely with the Managing and Deputy Digital Editors, this role will seek to implement a robust, effective and highly efficient workflow structure and police processes across all digital content assets.
You’ll be the gatekeeper for the quality of our digital content. You will be responsible for maintaining a high level of editorial accuracy throughout all sites, consistent with each brand’s profile and style requirements. From small wording changes to restructuring whole articles, you will always be looking for ways we can do our work better – and will never be afraid to speak your mind if you think there’s a way to improve something.
The right person will combine a strong understanding of digital across all platforms, with old-school attention to detail and editorial rigor, as well as a proactive, resourceful, problem-solving mindset. You’ll have a robust understanding of media law and will also be a fast, effective copy editor and writer who can work wonders with feature copy and add intelligent, witty sparkle to anything. And we’ll also need you to be able to crack out a compelling sell-in with maximum cut through on demand.
As the ideal candidate, you have 4+ years’ experience in a digital publishing environment of a radio network or media business and have proven success in managing a digital workflow system. You will have experience in a multi brand content production environment and have an obsession with social media, leading personalities, ambassadors and best practice in the industry. You will be passionate about our brands but even more passionate about working in a place which does things differently!
Relevant experience aside, your reputation for professionalism,
work ethic and importantly, diplomacy and composure under pressure,
