CLEVELAND METROPARKS TRAILS APP
Find amenities & trails Used by law enforcement 10,000+ downloads Open source app Useful for all trail users Quote from Ranger Chief: “First of all, it’s our MAP! We no longer issue hard copy map binders to our newest staff. We do most everything electronically. I find myself using the app to spot boundary lines. Just last week I found it to be a blessing when I was standing in someone’s back yard facing a possible encroachment. My cell phone immediately told me otherwise. A few years ago, I would have had to call for a survey.” Trails App- won silver Keeping up with the times, Cleveland Metroparks and partner Southwest General Hospital are providing us all with a modern and easy way to experience and navigate our Cleveland Metropark system. In a world where so many people, especially the younger generation, expect to access information from a mobile device, this application makes finding trails and amenities of interest just a click away. Paperless is more sustainable. Information is more current. And, that glove compartment in your car can once again be used for gloves rather than maps and brochures. Congratulations Cleveland Metroparks and Southwest General Hospital! City logo

CLEVELAND METROPARKS TRAILS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Social media ambassadors Won gold Skin in the game! When it comes to trails, there's no better way to drive the "demand side" of the equation than to get the users deeply involved. Cleveland Metroparks has done just that with their Trails Volunteer Program. Volunteers help build, maintain, and monitor mountain bike trails. Of greater significance, volunteers help create a “trails culture” among park users. They have a stake in protecting the trails and are active on social media in sharing the rules, educating about trail etiquette and trail management techniques. The program is transferable and already being adopted by other park systems in our region. Congratulations Cleveland Metroparks and your volunteers! City logo
