2. Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created. And You shall renew the face of the earth.
O, God, who by the light of the Holy Spirit, did instruct the hearts of the faithful, grant that by the same Holy Spirit we may be truly wise and ever enjoy His consolations, Through Christ Our Lord, Amen.

3. Sunday 21st May 2017 6th Sunday of Easter John 14:15-21
Jesus said to his disciples:
‘If you love me you will keep my commandments.
I shall ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you for ever,
that Spirit of truth whom the world can never receive since it neither sees nor know him; but you know him, because he is with you, he is in you.
I will not leave you orphans; I will come back to you. In a short time the world will no longer see me; but you will see me, because I live and you live. On that day you will understand that I am in my Father and you in me and I in you. Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.’

4. Literal meaning Where? John 14 – in the upper room
When? At the Last Supper – just before the Passion
What? Jesus gives his last teaching to his disciples
Who? Jesus, the apostles (but not Judas)
How? Jesus tells them about the coming of the Holy Spirit
Why? Jesus prepares his Church to live until he comes

5. The circle of grace You know him because he is with you, he is in you
If you love me
You will keep my commandments
I shall ask the Father
He will give you another Advocate…that Spirit of truth
You know him because he is with you, he is in you

6. The embrace of Father, Son and Holy Spirit
I am in my Father
You in me, I in you
Receive my commandments and keep them
Loved by my Father
I shall love him and show myself to him

7. Finding God The revelation of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit
God opens his identity and his life to us through the humanity of Jesus Christ.

8. Finding the human person
To keep the commandments
to grow in the likeness and life of God through the Holy Spirit.

9. Finding the Church Waiting for the coming of Jesus Seeing Jesus
Entering into the prayer of Jesus

11. Mary, Virgin and Mother,
you who, moved by the Holy Spirit,
welcomed the word of life
in the depths of your humble faith:
as you gave yourself completely to the Eternal One,
help us to say our own “yes”
to the urgent call, as pressing as ever,
to proclaim the good news of Jesus.
Mother of the living Gospel,
wellspring of happiness for God’s little ones,
pray for us.
Amen. Alleluia.
