Indiana County Community Action Program Inc July Volume 1, Issue 2 Staff News ICCAP Diaper Program *Low Cost Diapers For Qualified Families ICCAP continues to operate a diaper program that started in 2009 with a $1000 donation from the Kiwanis Club. Diapers sell for 10 cents per diaper and only full packs can be sold. (Example: 54 diapers in pack x 10 cents = $5.40.) To qualify you must meet the Federal Poverty guidelines of 150% (determined by family size and income). For more information and to REGISTER call ICCAP and speak with the receptionist. Note: Individuals should call in advance to check on the availability of the size of diapers needed. *All products subject to availability and change without notice. Sandy Harber years of service Tischa Richardson years of service Chelsey Kerr Baroni 3 years of service KIDS BOWL FREE Select bowling centers and schools around the country are participating in the first ever Kids Bowl Free program. This program is designed by bowling centers to give back to the community and provide a safe, secure, and fun way for kids to spend time this summer. Children, whose age does not exceed a limit by a participating bowling center, are eligible to register for 2 free games a day, all summer long, courtesy of the participating centers along with the schools and organizations. To find a participating bowling center and register, go to the Kids Bowl Free website: 2016 Back To School Bash The Back to School Bash is sponsored by area churches, community organizations, and caring Individuals. The goal is to provide school supplies to children of Indiana County’s low income families. The date is Saturday, August 20 and will provide family activities, refreshments, clothing , and haircuts. The event is located on Church St. between 6th and 7th St. from 9am to 2pm. To be eligible for this program, families income must be at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level. PathStone is a Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSFP) training seniors age 55 and older to go back out into the workforce. Serving 16 counties in Pennsylvania, PathStone now has an office within ICCAP’s main office building at 827 Water St. PathStone has four major goals: To upgrade job skills of the mature person for job placement. To help the mature person get involved in his/her community. Provide a community service. Provide an added income during training. If you are age 55 or older, unemployed and meet certain income guidelines , you may be eligible to train up to 15 hours per week. You can serve your community to gain experience at local non-profit organizations while expanding your skills and earning an income.
