PRIORITY ONE √ No working smoke alarms on the ceiling on every floor
Signs of scorching or fire on furnishings or clothing √ Evidence/history of fire damage due to cooking Evidence/history of smoking in bed Evidence/history of increased risk from fire due to impairment from medication/alcohol

PRIORITY TWO √ Does the occupier suffer from chronic illness?
Has the occupier got limited or restricted mobility? √ Does the occupier use a chip pan? Is there a large use of electrical items i.e. overloaded sockets? Are the electrical items generally quite old and worn? Is an open fire in use regularly anytime during the year? Are there unprotected / unguarded gas or electrical fires? Is there a high volume of combustible material in escape route?
