1 About Us My husband Bhaskar and I, Usha, came from a village in India to the US 17 years ago. We are active participants in the local community as well as back in India. USA Volunteers of BSA Troop 392 (proud parents of a Eagle scout). Active PTA member Volunteer at the local temple. Organize FMSC events, subdivision picnics, multicultural programs etc. Served many social committees at the work place. Volunteers at IDCA (India Development Coalition with America) since 2004. Organized volunteering camps for Schaumburg students at Shirdhon village in India. Organized a WhatsApp Lottery (2015)– Personally contacted 100 individuals who donated close to $2000 to 10 different charities. INDIA Donated Computers, a water tank, and books at village schools Started libraries at a few villages and conducted many activities throughout the year. Started a computer center at village. Conducted courses like CCC, Khan Academy, etc. Every Friday, we take English speaking & confidence building classes with village kids on Skype. Conducted many entrepreneurship sessions & helped starting businesses for local youth. Conducted many youth and farm related camps and trips.

5 School Building Project
We learned about the issues and needs of the village students through the library and weekend classes we took with them. I even took two months of personal leave to understand their needs. After several meetings with parents, teachers, subject-matter experts, officials, and villagers, the major necessity is improving the school building. Current Building Does not have playground Roof has holes (inhabitable in rainy season) Walls have cracks Windows are broken or missing Does not get filtered water Does not have auditorium No sports equipment Enrollment has gone down drastically

The Plan To better the future of students, villagers have come together and decided to build a new school building New Building Key Features Rooftop garden Digital classroom Flexible auditorium Sports ground Rooftop water harvesting Library Science laboratory Wi-Fi access Natural light in classrooms Kitchen and dining for midday meal Most of the work will be done locally
