Library Staff MUST add all publications, abstracts, letters, etc to Symplectic Staff MUST sign up for an Orchid registration – and MUST log the number on to ‘self-service’ There are going to be further cuts in Library Journal budgets – these will be difficult

FACULTY OF MATHEMATICS AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES Health and Safety Security Parkinson – Security visit completed – follow up costing for works yet to be received and considered Fire Safety – Parkinson – bins – potential use 2.41 First aid list –text system in place. First aid call in hours / out of hours Easter break the University and the School will be closed from 12:30pm Thursday 13th April until 8:00am Wednesday 19th April. Sentinel Accident reporting system all technical staff to be trained how to input incidents

School of Chemistry Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences School of Chemistry Faculty of Mathematics and Physical Sciences FIRST AID PROCEDURE Calling for First Aid during working hours (9am – 5pm, Mon-Fri): Your first port of call is still your local first aider, if they cannot be found or the situation requires more first aiders then follow the instructions below. Call ( ) 39696 You will need to provide the following information: The SCHOOL/BUILDING where the injured person is located The ROOM where the injured person is located The NATURE or TYPE of injury Outside of Working Hours Call University Security ( ) The Duty Officer will contact the ambulance service. If Security cannot be obtained, telephone 9999 for the emergency services directly but inform University Security as soon as possible afterwards. This is essential because the emergency services will need directions from security staff on arrival. FOR EMERGENCY INCIDENTS OTHER THAN FIRE, CONTACT A MEMBER OF THE INCIDENT RESPONSE TEAM: Ian Blakeley Rachael Fox Chris Pask Stuart Warriner

11. HR – New Staff who have arrived in the School since the last Meeting
Dr Michael Zulyniak, Lecturer in Obesity started on 1st January 2017 Dr Maria Torcello Gomez, Postdoctoral Research Fellow started on 9th January 2017 working with Professor Alan Mackie Mr Arthur Mercer, Temporary Laboratory Technician, started on the 13th February 2017. Dr Mark Hopkins, Lecturer in Nutritional Physiology, started on 20th February 2017 Dr Robert Little Postdoctoral Research Fellow started on the 20th March 2017 working with Professor Gary Williamson. Miss Amie Lister, Laboratory Assistant started on the 3rd April 2017

Dr Halise Gul Akillioglu joins the School on 1st May as a Postdoctoral Reseacrh Fellow working with Professor Alan Mackie

Leavers Dr Clare Lewis left the School on 31st March 2017 to relocate to the Outer Hebrides. Dr Raied Al-Lashi left on the 31st March 2017 to take up a post at Nottingham Trent University Dr Samantha Gardner started her maternity leave on the 1st April 2017
