2004 – 1st year graduate students – 100 applied; 100 accepted 2005 – 1st and 2nd year graduate students – 225 applied – 200 accepted 2006 – 1st and 2nd year graduate students – 326 applied accepted

3 Goals of the workshop Overall Goal: establish cohorts for women in graduate school Help with strategies and information on navigating grad school Tips on joining the CSE community Early insights into career paths The opportunity to get to know a variety of successful, senior women The opportunity to network! Assistance in the formation of a cohesive cohort peer support group

First Year Cohort Everyone is new Second Year Cohort Back for second year Students: Can attend any session Some specialized for M.S. and Ph.D. Speakers: encourage to participate in discussions of all sessions

Fill out & return the survey you were given at registration Attend & participate in all parts of the program, including the reception and dinner tonight and if possible Google reception on Sat night Take any & all opportunities to NETWORK!

8 We need you to: Help us figure out how to keep this group as a cohesive peer support group with follow-on activities Participate in follow-on activities Fill out an evaluation at the end in order to help us better organize the next workshop
