APodC Career Framework
The APodC is developing a career framework for the practice and development of podiatry in Australia. The purpose is to provide a clear and uniform career progression beyond initial training. The aim is to credential competencies and clinical skills, not academic achievements.

The APodC awards credentials in the clinical interest areas of Paediatrics, High Risk Foot and Sports / Biomechanical at two levels, certified and consultant.

Requirements to move through the framework
Significant practice in clinical interest area 15 – 20 case log’s covering all the knowledge headings within the curriculum 5 Leadership in podiatry activities 5 Contribution to evidence activities No time frame – self directed learning Portfolio assessed

Assessments Multiple Choice Exam
Intended to test practical application of knowledge from the clinical interest area curriculum. 1.5 hours 70 questions Various locations (capital cities)

Assessments Viva Examination
Aims to assess critical thinking in the clinical process Videotaped consultation Interview with 2 examiners

Recognised Prior Learning
Open for a period of 2 years from launch of the framework Retrospective log of cases in portfolio MCQ & Viva Examination

Launch Dates Paediatrics Certified – 4th November at QLD state conference Sports & High Risk Foot by the end of 2016
