8 Here’s the situation… Prom is 2 weeks away. Joe has asked his friend Jill to go to the prom with him. The two have been friends since elementary school and are looking forward to a fun night. Jill has her dress ready, her hair appointment made and they have a limo reserved.

Kaylee, the girl Joe has had a major crush on for months asked him if he would go to the prom with her. What should Joe do? Work with a partner to come up with a pros and cons list. List possible alternatives for all parties.

ASK QUESTIONS! Consider the possible alternatives (think about the different things you might decide to do) and the consequences of choosing each alternative; collect any additional information needed (think up as many solutions as possible). Choose the best alternative and take the necessary action. Be sure to follow through on your decision.

What did the teacher know that you did not? How much of an advantage is it in a game to know something that the rest of the players don’t know? Name some other examples where information can be an important factor in how well you do in something. **How can we relate this to alcohol, tobacco, drugs or sexual behavior? What happens if you get information that is incorrect? How does knowledge give you an advantage over others? KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!!
